Amazing, amazing potential
The good: the graphics are amazing. Seriously, so good I want to lick the screen. Clouds, lighting, cockpits—it’s really, really impressive. The real voice recordings from actual space missions are a nice touch, too. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that you’re looking at a computer simulation.
The bad: the copy leaves a lot to be desired. Buttons have text that overflow their bounds, tutorials are half-written (or not-written) and there is disappointing lack of instructions. I’m sure it’s possible to do all kinds of amazing things in-game, but it’s very much trial and error right now.
If they were to hire a copy editor and really focus on polishing the rough edges, this could be an amazing offering. I really cannot wait to see where they take it, because even with the warts and rough edges, $4.99 is a steal for this.
